NEW HOTTIE ON THE SCENE!


A star on the rise, Collins Pennie has braved the toughest of odds to make his dreams a reality. Collins can next be seen as an assemble lead in the much anticipated MGM remake of the hit musical FAME (September 25, 2009). In the movie, Collins will play “Malik,” a gifted but troubled young singer/musician who must find a way to let go of his past, so that he may find his future, Malik finds himself amongst many other talented teens that are also looking for their future and tackling demons. Set in New York, at New York Academy of Performing Arts, the movie is directed by Kevin Tancharoen and also stars, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Be Be Neuwirth, Meagn Mullally and Charles S. Dutton.



In addition to Fame, Collins has recently landed a supporting role in the motion picture United States, for Academy Award nominated actress, Angela Bassett’s directorial debut. The movie is about a writer, who writes a screenplay that focuses on a prominent black writer who writes a fake autobiography from the perspective of a hoodlum who is barely literate. When the book looks to becoming a possible contender for the National Book Award, he's left to choose between telling the truth or being famous. Based on the novel "Erasure" written by Percival Everett. In the movie Collins plays “Van Go.” The film is set to begin shooting in 2010. The film also marks the first production product for Bassett/Vance Productions.

Collins’ is a story of true inspiration, born in Brooklyn, New York; Collins spent half of his childhood in numerous foster homes only to move out on his own at the tender age of 15. An ordinary kid who quickly realized that he wanted more out of life than what the Brooklyn projects had to offer, he began singing, acting and dancing. At a very early age Collins realized that nourishing these gifts would enable him to leave an environment where drugs and violence prevailed and were an inevitable. Collins' undeniable talent and determination made major industry power players take notice and after only six months in the business, he landed his first role playing “Sean” on the hit CBS daytime drama "As The World Turns." He followed that two short months later with a guest-starring hit NBC drama "Law & Order." His other past TV Credits include, CBS' "Without A Trace" and he also recurred on the network's hit series "CSI: Miami." His past film credits include a lead role in hit Sony Screen Gems' remake of Prom Night, and also the teen comedy Fired Up and a supporting role in Half Nelson.

In addition to acting, Collins is an accomplished dancer and has appeared in videos for P’ Diddy’s Show Me Your Soul for the Bad Boys 2 soundtrack and Beyonce’s Get Me Boddied. He has also been a featured model in the coveted CK One fragrance campaign for Calvin Klein.

When Collins isn’t acting he likes to relax by working out, playing street football and boxing. He also enjoys collecting sneakers and has over 200 pairs.
