DUMB LUCK OR JUST DUMB?

According to The NY POST, American Idol Michael "Big Mike" Lynche, was picked last week for the Top 24 but was booted over the weekend.

The reason: his father told a local newspaper that his son made the semifinals,
a violation of the show's confidentiality rules.

The paper reported that
his father confirmed he'd made it to the Top 24.

Joe's Place, which has a history of digging up reliable inside info on the
show's contestants, reported over the weekend that Lynche has been replaced by
another singer from the Top 50 qualifiers.

It sounds like he was so excited about his son making th eshow that he couldn't hold it in! Should Michael be penalized and kicked off of the show because of a big-mouthed relative (Parent)?

AI PRODUCES FAME HUNGRY KIDS?

Rocker/Actor, LENNY KRAVITZ has criticized reality TV shows such as AMERICAN IDOL for producing a generation of fame-hungry kids who don't want to work for a living.

He is convinced that today's celebrity culture has a negative effect on kids - who all grow up wanting to be "famous" but don't want to work hard in their careers.

And Kravitz insists many young people see TV talent contests as an easy way to fame and fortune. He tells Britain's Glamour magazine, "(These shows) are a reflection of our society. You hear kids saying that they want to be famous, and when you ask them what for, they don't know - they just want to be famous. "It's like there is this lack of passion in the doing of something that that might bring you riches. When I was little, I never said I wanted to be famous, I said I wanted to be a musician. "I mean, I understand why people like (these TV shows), but will you find a Bob Dylan or a Bob Marley on there? It is what it is."

ZAC EFRON: THE NEW TONY MANERO?

The buzz in Hollywood is that American Idol's Simon Cowell is in talks with producer Robert Stigwood to remake the 1977 classic, "Saturday Night Fever."
Simon has his eye on cutie Zac Efron to play Tony Manero, the tight-pants-wearing disco king originally played by John Travolta.
Sources tell Britain's The Sun newspaper that Cowell has been looking into buying the rights for years and has opened discussions with Stigwood, who owns the rights to the screenplay.
“The charm offensive has been in full swing and they made a breakthrough over the last couple of weeks. Robert was keen to get some assurances the original wouldn’t be completely butchered before he agreed to the deal," the source told the paper.
“Simon has been drawing up a list of people he wants to get involved. When that meets Robert’s expectations, the contracts will be signed.”
Word is that hip-hop producer Timbaland might get tapped to rework that awesome Bee Gees soundtrack.
Watch the first three minutes of the movie and see if you can envision the "High School Musical" star in the role.

IS JENNIFER HUDSON PREGNANT?

So I've been reading about this rumored pregnancy for weeks now and this just came out from the Chicago Tribune about Jennifer's baby bump and baby shower.

A weekend baby shower in downtown Chicago confirmed what has long been rumored: Jennifer Hudson is pregnant.

“It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family,” singer/actress Felicia Fields, a longtime Hudson friend, said of Saturday’s get-together in a relative’s home. “They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet.”

South Side native Hudson, the 27-year-old singing star who won the 2006 best supporting actress Oscar for “Dreamgirls,” is engaged to former reality TV star David Otunga, who’s currently pursuing a pro wrestling career. Hudson has said she no longer would live in Chicago after her mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason and nephew Julian King were found murdered in October, with William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia, charged with the crimes.

Hudson recently finished a co-headlining concert tour with singer Robin Thicke, with an April 25 show at the Arie Crown Theatre. Her manager and publicist previously denied that she is pregnant.

"It was a nice time that we had," Fields said of the shower. She didn’t want to get into when the baby is due, but speculation is that Hudson is many months along—an impression bolstered by her appearance of late.

As for whether Hudson received blue or pink gifts, Fields said, “They don’t know [the gender]. More yellow.”
