ABC's marketing department is so hardcore that they will get Mickey Mouse to hand out cigarettes to children if that's what it takes to get people to watch their shows!
Gawker.com got leaked a parody video starring the network's marketing heads Mike Benson and Marla Provencio in which they "pimp" a made-up show called The Smoking Clown. Supposedly it was made a while back for an internal meet-and-greet within the network in which each department tells the others what it is that they do. It's not clear if this was ever shown or if the idea of video showing a bunch of television executives smoking and drinking in the office was squashed before the meeting.
The Execs dish out profanity for fourteen minutes telling everyone how to sell something that you hate. This clearly shows you how the networks manipulate their viewers and laughing at us for buying into their marketing strategies. They even got Lost co-creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse in on the act. I'm sure JJ Abrams wasn't in this piece because maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all.
